About us

We’re a social enterprise at heart but also a public innovation design consultancy. We love helping people who are in the business of helping other people, or doing work to improve peoples’ lives. Some of our clients come from government organisations, social services, NGOs, and social venture start-ups. Typically, they approach us when they are looking for a fast and fresh approach to solving a sticky problem. These issues are often about the human experience, relationships and interactions between process and people.

That’s when we bring field-tested design thinking tools and methods on fast-paced, one-week projects called design sprints. We believe in working closely together with (not just for) our clients, all of the team all of the time. That way, everyone can experience for themselves the deep insights, different viewpoints and innovative ideas that help their organisation think about issues in ways they cannot see.

How we help

Fast, frugal & flexible

From ethnographic research and ideation to prototyping and testing, we compress what usually takes months into just one week, therefore containing costs in terms of funds, time and manpower. Add on more sprints if you want, or stop if you'd learnt enough - it's a flexible, iterative approach adapted from agile methodology.

Managing risk

This might sound familiar: business-as-usual isn't working for you, while piloting new ideas seem too risky in terms of funds and public image. Getting deep insights into what your stakeholders really need and testing new ideas 'safely' and cheaply through prototyping helps inject innovation while mitigating risk.

Balancing diverse perspectives

Sometimes you might be stuck having to manage multiple stakeholders' perspectives and difficult trade-offs within a polarised community. Convening a co-design session during the design sprint week where all stakeholders hear one another out and design solutions together can help end the debate and decision stalemate.

Paying it forward

Unlike other consultancies, we are at our core also a social enterprise passionate about returning financial and idea capital to the cause. Even after the project, we'll continue to advocate the project findings to relevant stakeholders (with your permission of course!), as well as pursuing spin-off projects based on ideas generated during the project.

Innovating grant-making with SG Enable

Our clients

“Jason listened to the client’s needs and help to reframe their needs. The sprint method kept the team focused, and Jason helped us complete what we need to do much faster, uncovering insights where we had blindspots.”

Audrey Ow, public service officer

“The difference Jason made to this project was bringing in new perspectives the team hasn’t thought of before, and useful analogous inspiration. The 5-day design sprint delivered good quality insights, and reaffirmed the benefits and rewards of ethnography. Jason’s key strength is his ability to source for different extreme users.”

Lynnette Tay, public officer

“Jason is an extremely dedicated, hardworking and passionate individual. He went through the extra mile to give beyond what is required and that really helped in the project. The effort Jason takes in making research information, concepts and frameworks easily understandable is something really helpful.”

Eleanor Wong, Executive, SG Enable

“Easy going, nice and humble, genuine and great to work with and talk to. Great listener. Easy to relate to, attentive to what is said and the underlying and extremely hardworking!”

Azlinah, Manager, SG Enable

“Thanks Jason for your sincerity and commitment to this project and we have really learnt a lot together with you.”

Chia Ai Ling, Assistant Director, SG Enable
